Think and act in a safe manner. Always disconnect power and use a lockout before you work on the E-coat system, or any of the related subsystems. Observe any confined space conditions. Use the appropriate safety equipment and clothing for the task. Please carefully read all the instructions listed below to familiarize yourself with the project before attempting to perform any of the work.

The Set Screw Lugs is used to reduce the number of connections to the bus bar. There are two (2) capacities: 225A and 400A. The appropriate size connector bolt set is dependent upon how many electrical connections are ganged into one Set Screw Lug. The Set Screw Lug is attached to the bus bar with one bolt set. Set equals one bolt and one nut. (Note: one compression washer is supplied by UFSc for each Set Screw Lug ordered.) Use the chart below to assist with the selection of the bolt.
Select a bolt length that will extend at least three threads past the bolt when fully tightened.
Use the appropriate drill bit for the bolt diameter selected and drill through the bus bar if necessary. Take care not to allow drillings to enter the paint bath/tank.
Place the Set Screw Lug on the same side as the ME Cells to which it is to be attached. Slide through the bolt. Slide the compression washer over the bolt on the other side of the bus bar. The largest part of the washer must be touching the bus bar or else the washer is backwards.
Screw on the nut and tighten until the compression nut is flat up against the bus bar.
Determine where the Long Half of the Cable Lead should be cut to fit into the Set Screw Lug. (Note: Allow about 300 mm (12 in) of slack at the ME Cell). Strip the end of the Long Half Cable Lead.
See chart below and place Cable Leads into one Set Screw and tighten.
